Eligibility & Reservation for Sainik School Entrance Exam

The age limit for boys who are seeking admission to class 6th is 10 to 11 years and for class 9th it is 13 to 14 years as of July 1st of the year when the student has to take admission in the school. Also, the students have completed their previous class from a recognized school so as to get admission to the Sainik School.
For the wards of ex-serviceman and service personnel, 25% of the total seats are reserved. For SC (Scheduled Caste) candidates,15% of the total seats are reserved and 7.5% seats are reserved for ST (Scheduled Tribe) candidates.

The Pattern of All India Sainik School Entrance Exam

The medium of the question paper is English and the students are free to write the paper in their preferred language. There are two sections in the question paper- paper 1 and paper 2.
There are 125 questions from Mathematics, General Knowledge, Language, and Intelligence for class 6th entrance exam. The paper carries 300 marks.
The paper comprises 150 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) from Mathematics, General Science, English, Intelligence, and Social Studies for class 9th entrance exam.
The duration of the first paper two hours and the duration of the second paper is 50 minutes only.
