Wanna be a Doctor or Medic in the future? You’ve come to the right place! Every year, various medical entrances are conducted all over India for admission to medical institutes/colleges, such as NEET, AIIMS, AFMC, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS, etc.
The eligibility criteria for a student to appear in these exams is a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in class 12th/10+2/equivalent with a subject combination of Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Biotechnology. In some institutes, there is a relaxation of 5% in this percentage. There is no age bar for appearing in the exams.
NEET is the most known exam conducted in these criteria. It is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test and is conducted by the NTA (National Testing Agency) every year. The students can apply to various Government or Private medical institutes which provide admission on the basis of NEET score.
There are many institutes that conduct their own exams for admission such as AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), JIPMER (Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research), AFMC ( Armed Forces Medical College) for the ones interested to work for armed forces of India, PGIMER (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh), etc. Admission to AFMC is provided through the NEET score.
