Defence School Entry Exams
Military or Sainik School & Navodaya Vidyalaya Entry Exams
The Military Schools and Navodaya Vidyalaya conduct nationwide entrance exams for admission to classes 6th, 9th & 11th.
For Rashtriya Military Schools, RMS-CET (Common Entrance Test) is conducted every year usually in the month of December. The candidates can apply online on the official website once the notification is released. Only boys(sons of military persons/civilians) can apply for this exam. The candidate must be 10 to 11 years of age for admission to class 6th, 13 to 14 years of age for admission to class 9th, and 15 to 16 years of age for admission to class 11th as of July 1st of the year of admission. Also, the candidate must have completed the previous class for sitting in the exam.
For Sainik Schools, AISSEE (All India Sainik School Entrance Exam) is held in the month of January every year for admission to classes 6th & 9th. The application form is made available on the official website after the notification is released. Both boys(class 6th & 9th) and girls(class 6th) can apply for the exam. The age of the candidate must be between 10-12 years for class 6th, and 13 to 15 years for class 9th as of March 31 of the year of application. Also, the candidate must have completed the previous class for sitting in the exam.
For Navodaya Vidyalaya, JNVST (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test) is conducted every year for classes 6th,9th & 11th in the month of January and the result is declared till May. Both boys and girls who have cleared the previous class from a district that has a Navodaya Vidyalaya can apply for the exam. The age limit for class 6th is 9 to 13 years, for class 9th is 13 to 16 years and for class, 11th is 14 to 18 years as of May 1st of that year.
At Alar Academy, we provide coaching for all the above-mentioned exams and also for various olympiads, like NTSE, IJSO, RMO, etc., that are held annually for classes 1st to 10th. For admission to class 6th in these schools, we start coaching from the 3rd class itself. So, it's a complete course of three years for the student to prepare.
